INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEASTING SYSTEM (IELTS)
At London Essex College we consider proficiency in the English language as essential to ensure the successful completion of an academic or professional course.
In some countries, a certain level of English language competence may also be helpful or required for visa purposes.
In order to help students gain the appropriate level of English language competency. LEC students have the choice of full-time or part-time English courses leading to the IELTS qualification.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an internationally recognised qualification which is designed to prepare students for studying in the English Language.
IELTS is renowned as the qualification to have if you are an overseas student who wishes to undertake professional graduate or postgraduate study at an educational institution where courses are taught in English.
Benefits of IELTS
Short term and highly focused English language training will accelerate your learning and greatly improve your chance of success. On an IELTS course you will concentrate on improvement in the four main components of the qualifications.
-
Listening
-
Reading
-
Writing
-
Speaking
How your level will be assessed
Before commencing an English language course, students must sit a short IELTS test either on the day of registration at LEC or prior to this through your local British Council Office. The test will provide an accurate gauge of your current level and indication of the length of English course you will require.
Modular Courses**
In addition to the above, we also provide courses designed for particular needs. These courses are organised on a modular basis and can be taken over one, two or four weeks - other options are also available. They can also be run on clients’ premises.
